Oliver Twist – Sweet, innocent and somewhat frail workhouse boy, may be small for his age. Triple Threat, Soprano, 12-13

Fagin – An old con man who trains children to be pickpockets. Somewhat sinister with comedy. Triple Threat, Baritone

Artful Dodger – A troubled youth, leading member of Fagin’s band of pickpockets. Triple Threat, Soprano, must be older/larger than Oliver.

Nancy – A rough around the edges cockney “bad” girl with a warm heart. Triple Threat, Alto

Bill Sykes – A terrible adult villain, through and through. Intimidating yet somehow compelling. A very physical role.  Baritone

Mr. Bumble – The stout man who runs the workhouse, takes himself and his job much too seriously. Comedic role, some dancing. (must kiss Widow Corney) Baritone

Widow Corney – The domineering, shrill workhouse mistress who has romantic inclinations toward Mr Bumble. Comedic. (must kiss Mr. Bumble) Soprano

Mr. Sowerberry – The dark and foreboding undertaker, some comedic dancing. Baritone

Mrs. Sowerberry – Mr. Sowerberry’s wife, who really rules the roost, some comedic dancing, Soprano

Mr. Brownlow – A kind and wealthy older gentleman, the grandfather of Oliver. No singing

Bet - Nancy’s loyal friend, possibly younger sister. Must be older than Oliver. Light dance, Alto

Charlotte – Mr. Sowerberry’s daughter, romantic inclinations toward Noah. Rather mean and histrionic. No singing

Noah Claypole – A tall bully who is Mr. Sowerberry’s apprentice. Mean and violent toward Oliver, but a coward at heart. Romantic inclinations toward Charlotte, No singing

Mrs. Bedwin – Mr. Brownlow’s housekeeper, who befriends Oliver. Soprano

Dr. Grimwig – Comedic role, obnoxious doctor who is very full of himself. No singing

Old Sally – Old Workhouse employee, story hinges on her having knowledge of who Oliver really is. No singing

Charley Bates – alternate to Dodger. Another leading member of Fagin’s pickpockets, who does the right thing in the end. Must dance, group singing, about Dodgers age.
