“CCT is such a healthy outlet for me. When I’m up on stage, acting with my friends, I have a healthy way to express all different kinds of emotions. The actors, the techies, the directors, the producers, and all of the parents and volunteers make CCT such a great, fun place to be. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, in my free time.”
“The biggest reason I love CCT is the family feeling you get. We are so much more than just a group of actors; the people involved with the theater are my best friends and a family to me. Without them, I do not know where I would be right now. CCT has such a family atmosphere and there is almost never at time I do not want to be there.”
“CCT is a place for people to come and be themselves – that’s why I love it here. I’ve been part of this theater for 6 years and without it, I would be lost. I cannot imagine what my life would be like without it. The people are great, the shows are amazing, and the things you learn about history, your character and ultimately yourself, you will never forget. I love it because it’s like a big family. I know everyone says that, and it may sound cliché, but it really is. The public loves the plays and that’s what keeps them coming through the doors. We may be a Children’s Theater, but don’t underestimate our abilities. We have some phenomenal actors and some of the best directors. Even if theater isn’t your thing, I would encourage you to come and see one of our shows. They are very well done and a lot of hard work goes into them. Who knows, you may find yourself up there on the stage with us someday!”
“Corbett Children’s Theater is my home. When I first came to CCT (No Strings Attached, Summer of ’09) I was SO nervous. I had never acted outside of my church, or my own family. But the minute I walked in the door, everyone was so welcoming. I felt right at home. I remember the first rehearsal I went to. I arrived a tad late and was walking up the sidewalk. As I walked up, I saw a flood of kids running at me. Next thing I knew, I was engulfed in a swarm of hugs! I knew at that moment that I was part of a family. That’s what CCT stands for. Family, community, and love for others. I am so glad I became part of this theater, and I plan to stay here for a long, long time.”
“Corbett Children’s Theater has opened up parts of my life that would have remained closed without it. I have learned so much and learned to love theater – especially lighting. While CCT doesn’t have the best situation when it comes to lighting, there is still so much to be learned and experimented with. Not only have I been introduced to the technical aspects of theater, I just auditioned for The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. I never would have guessed that I would be acting my senior year of high school, but here I am. In addition to the new possibilities CCT has opened up for me, it is a great community with great people, and I will be ever so sorry to leave it come this Fall.”
“The very first thing I ever did was a dance class that my sister was teaching. At first I thought that every one would be snoby and very excluding like past theaters I have been in. Boy, was I wrong! I love CCT. No matter how you look, how you talk, or anything you will always belong.: )”
